With A Root Canal There Will Be No More Tooth Pain

Endodontic treatment will eliminate nerve pain quickly. There is no need to suffer!

Many patients become anxious when they hear that they need a root canal, especially if they are not familiar with the significant advancements that have been made in modern day dentistry. At Contemporary Dentistry in Dearborn, we practice pain free dentistry and use root canal procedures to keep teeth from having to be extracted. Root canal therapy or endodontic treatments are used in Dearborn to remove the pulp or nerve root of a tooth that has been destroyed by tooth decay. When the damaged root or nerve endings have been removed, a drilled hole will be in the middle of the tooth. This will weaken the tooth and make it prone to fracture or breaking. To keep this from happening, and to make the tooth stronger than ever, our Dearborn endodontist will use a porcelain filling or dental crown to restore the integrity of the tooth. The restored tooth will look great (matching your other teeth) and will be perfect in terms of biting or chewing your food. If you do not seek out a timely root canal when decay has ravaged your tooth, the pain will become unbearable and the tooth may not be salvageable. Call us sooner than later at (313) 581-4884 for a free emergency consultation with our endodontist. At Contemporary Dentistry in Dearborn, we want to rescue you from pain and save your tooth, but we can’t help if you don’t call! Remember, we have a 24/7 hotline so that our diligent staff can provide you with an emergency appointment.

"Here Are Some Things To Do At Home After A Root Canal”

"Here Are Some Things To Do At Home After A Root Canal”

Most of my patients return to work, school or other activities the next day after having a root canal in Dearborn at Contemporary Dentistry

“There are usually few, if any, after effects from having a root canal. Once I have completed the procedure, you might experience some sensitivity from the tooth that has been restored for just a day or two. If you are having some mild discomfort the use of over the counter drugs like Ibuprofen or Tylenol should take care of the problem. Check with your pharmacist to see if these drugs are appropriate for you and the recommended dosages. Once you take one or two of these pills, it takes about a half hour to get a loading dose on board to take away the discomfort you are feeling. If the discomfort persists, call us and we will get you in immediately to determine the nature of the pain. Normal activities like work, school or physical activity are not usually affected by a root canal, so we don’t place restrictions on what you do the next day after the procedure. Remember to come in for your six month checkups and cleanings, so that your reconstructed tooth will remain healthy and last a long time.”
